Tony Brook is an artist, designer, collector, curator and book publisher. His work has been rotating between the twin poles of art and design since 1992, when he founded the internationally-renowned studio SPIN.
With a foundation in iconoclastic graphic design, Brook pushes beyond the core output of SPIN through a conceptual, studio-based practice. He produces diverse formal experiments with serial outcomes, employing wit and sensitivity across digital and analogue techniques, from limited-edition works of art to posters, prints, paintings, sculptures, photographs, textiles and screen-based pieces.
Brook was born in Halifax, West Yorkshire in 1962 and lives and works in London. He is a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale, a founding partner of Unit Editions, publishing books on visual culture and is currently a professor at ISIA Urbino, Italy.
