Saskia Neuman (b. 1985 New York, NY) is a Swedish/American curator and writer based in Stockholm. After studying her BA and MA at Kings College & UCL, University of London, in the UK. She oversees the biannual Absolut Art Award, which offers funding to an artist and art writer to develop and present their respective dream projects. In addition to the Absolut Art Award she had lead the Art team in their partnership with Tate Publishing, Palais de Tokyo and Frieze Art Fair, as well as other institutional collaborators. Saskia is also responsible for initiating and activating Absolut Art Bars around the globe, collaborating with artists and musicians/DJ’s including Mickalene Thomas, Ry Rocklen and Seth Troxler. Prior to joining Absolut, Saskia was an independent curator in Berlin, curating exhibitions as well as writing for publications such as Berlin Art Journal and LOFT. Previously, Saskia worked as a Curator and Head of Curatorial research at the KW Institute for Contemporary Art, in Berlin. Where she organized the director Alejandro Jodorwosky film festival and lecture series. She also worked closely with artist Olafur Eliasson in Berlin, along with working at the Venice Biennale, for the 2009 exhibition main Fare Mondi – Making Worlds, as an exhibition organizer and catalogue contributor. Saskia’s work has been profiled by The New York Times, FAD, Another Magazine, Purple Magazine, Artlover, SvD, Art in America and Whitewall among others.
