A Self taught designer, Ambrish made forays into designing boats, teaching in schools, working in cinema and exhibition & museum design, before setting up Lotus, a firm focussing on Interior Design & Architecture, barely 10 years ago. In this short span of time the firm has received national and global acclaim. Its more recent accomplishments include World Holiday Building of the Year at the World Architecture Festival 2011 and national IIID Design Practice of the year for 2009 and 2011. Its work has been extensively featured in prominent journals, books and magazines across India and globally.
Lotus works on the principles of Conscious design – an approach that celebrates local resources, cultural influences and a keen sensitivity to the impact of the project and process on all stakeholders. Ambrish is a Fellow of the RSA a design consultant to the Crafts Museum Delhi, the Mehrangarh Museum trust, and has served as visiting faculty, consultant and juror to architecture and design schools across the country and has lectured extensively at design events in India and abroad.
