Mitticool Clay Creation is situated in Wankaner, Rajkot district. This is a small scale industry which produces handy craft items. This Mitticool project has been initiated by Mr. Mansukhbhai Prajapati in the year 1988 utilising minimal funding fueled with the zeal for innovation in the field of clay products. To date he has developed clay products such as tawadi (tawa) with hand pressing system, clay water filter (1995), Mitticool refrigerator (2005) – for the rural people who do not have electricity in their villages, nonstick Mitti tawa (2005), and a pressure cooker (2009).

He is the first person in India to claim patents over home made clay products. For his great efforts and creativity, Mr Prajapati has been honored as ‘rural scientist” by the President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam at the 4th National Award Function, Delhi. Mitticool’s innovative products are appreciated nationally and internationally, and had been featured by various media channels like Discovery, NDTV, National Geographic IBN-7, BBC World, and print media such as India Today. Economic Times ranked Mitticool third in the world for innovative clay products, officially recognized by Prof. Anil K. Gupta of NIF (National Innovation Foundation) Ahmedabad.

Mr. Prajapati is imparting his knowledge among the new generation via the “Prajapati Hastkala Vikas Trust” in which to date has trained more than 500 students. This trust is run by Government of Gujarat.
