Christopher is an author and costume consultant. He created and edits the award winning film and television costume website ‘Clothes on Film’ and recently published his book ‘Fashion in Film’. He has also contributed to several publications including Empire, Film Comment and Arts Illustrated. He wrote a piece for Matt Zoller Seitz’s best-selling book ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ and a chapter about costume design in the digital age for ‘Hollywood Costume’ by Deborah Nadoolman Landis. You can occasionally catch him chatting about movie costumes on BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 4’s The Film Show or The Monocle podcast. If you grab a copy of Boardwalk Empire on DVD (season one) you’ll even see him in a nice vintage two-piece talking about some of the finest suits to ever stroll in front of a camera. In addition to discussing costume design and fashion for the media, he also consults on costume for feature film and occasionally works on short films as a costume designer. His favourite drink is a Gibson martini.
