Design Writing Workshop
30, 31 August and 1 September,
at Kyoorius Designyatra, 6:30 - 8:00pm
The Workshop programme:
30 August - An introduction to design writing and various platforms, with short practical exercises and details of the final assignment.
31 August - Patrick Burgoyne, chief editor of Creative Review, will share his journey as a design writer and review and give feedback on the participants initial ideas for the assignment.
1 September - A review of the assignments and announcement of the winning writer.
How to apply
To be a part of the workshop, you could be a designer interested in writing or a writer interested in design! All registrants of Kyoorius Designyatra 2012 are open to apply. Send in your details with a sample of your writing on design (this could be a link to your blog/ any published writing/ part of design documentation) before the 27th of August to participate to aanchal.sodhani@in.britishcouncil.org with KDY Design Writing as the subject. Final participants will be informed on the 28th of August and will be at the discretion of the British Council. In case you would like to attend the workshop only for the first two days, you can but you will not be eligible for the prize.
For the winner
You will have to cover the London Design Festival activities and events over five days to be featured on the British Council blog as well as Kyoorius Magazine.
To be eligible for the prize, you will have to attend all three days and compete with the others on the final writing assignment.
You also need to have a valid passport for the next six months and be available to travel to London Design Festival for five days (any five days between 14 - 23 September). The British Council will plan an itinerary for you and will ensure your participation and interaction with relevant contacts.
The British Council will provide you a return economy class ticket to London and a travel grant of 850 GBP towards your accommodation, transport and visa. The British Council will also provide the appropriate invitation letter and guidance for the visa but the visa process will have to be completed by the winner.
