Raphael Grignani earned a Master of Arts from the University of Art and Design, Helsinki, Finland in Product and Strategic Design. He joined Nokia in Helsinki in 2002.
Raphael Grignani was very fortunate to travel a lot as a kid and later on lived in different places in Europe and America. These experiences amplified his innate fascination with people and creativity. In order to design relevant and meaningful products or services Grignani believes he must get to know the varied reasons why customers use one product over another as well as their dreams, desires and frustrations.
His experience at Nokia ranges from product design, to exploratory human behavioral field research. He has also worked on long-term design concepts such as the Homegrown project where the idea of how environmental and social issues may change mobile device design in the coming years was explored.
He currently leads a multi-disciplinary design team in San Francisco that works with other areas of the business to concept, prototype and build the vision for future user experiences.
