Peter trained at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London where he was awarded the 5th Year prize. After working in architectural practice, he joined BBC Television’s design department where he stayed for eight years designing for entertainment and drama. During this period he also worked in theatre, both in repertory and in London’s West End. He then moved on to Imagination where he worked for five years, becoming an associate director. In 1992 he formed Land Design Studio.

For many years Peter's interest in the cross-over of design disciplines has encouraged Land's collaboration with many leading architects to investigate the potential of integrating the "interpretive narrative" into the architectural process. In addition, Land has developed close associations with media artists and media laboratories such as MIT Media Lab and Ars Electronica to help develop interfaces and utilise other emerging technologies for adaptation in visitor attractions in both the cultural and commercial domain. Over the last 10 years, this considered relationship between architecture, narrative and communication media has contributed to Land’s involvement in 16 lottery funded cultural projects valued in excess of £70m which often involves the complete process from conceptual masterplanning through to the final commissioned installation.

Land have enjoyed working with many cultural institutions including, in the UK; The Natural History Museum, V&A, Imperial War Museum, British Museum, and The National Maritime Museum, and Internationally; Miraikan Tokyo, and National Parks Singapore. Commercial clients includes; Christie’s, Eurostar, The Famous Grouse Visitor Experience, which was awarded an Interactive BAFTA, and The UK Expo Pavilion in Aichi Japan 2005, which received a D&AD yellow pencil and an Art Directors Cub New York Gold Award, and most recently ‘The British Music Experience’ at The O2 in London for Anschutz Entertainment Group.
