\ Anthony Lopez | An alumnus of the National Institute of Design, Anthony is the CEO and Principal Designer of Lopez Design, a New Delhi based brand identity design consultancy firm he founded with the purpose of getting design its due respect. Not the typical swash-buckling media person, Anthony is a reluctant public speaker and tries to get his studio’s work to speak volumes for itself. Perhaps that’s why he was chosen to be a part of a team of 12 Indian designers who represented the Indian design industry at the ‘Open Minds India’ programme in Netherlands last year. A man with varied interests ranging from basketball and jazz to business and politics, Anthony draws upon the rich mixed palette of experiences that life has to offer when it comes to providing design solutions. The studio is accordingly, composed of a merry medley of people from different disciplines besides Art and Design. This includes subjects like Political Science, Business Administration, English and even Malayalam literature! Working in close partnerships with corporate legends like PricewaterhouseCoopers,?the Murugappa Group, Sify, Ernst & Young, Mercer, Yatra Online, Kuoni Travels and social organizations like UNICEF, UNDP, USAID; building brands like BSA, Hercules, Harvest Gold, Whirlpool and McVities, Lopez Design has built a formidable portfolio over the years. Besides furthering the cause of design education as visiting faculty across the country, Anthony has also ensured that Indian design studios have made a name in international design awards by picking up several accolades over the years. The importance of a big idea, the strength of design detailing and an understanding of market realities must work in perfect collaboration to provide clients with breakthrough design solutions.
